Classic Literature
Welcome to Week 2 of the She Reads Everything 2026 Reading Challenge. This week, we’re focusing on classic literature.
Classic literature includes important books that remain meaningful over time. They address big ideas such as love, loss, and what it means to be human, inspiring readers across eras and places. The term “classical literature” refers explicitly to ancient Greek and Roman writings, highlighting their lasting influence. At the same time, “classic” denotes a well-known and respected work that continues to be studied today, fostering respect and admiration. “Modern classics” refers to post-World War II literature that readers find relatable, encouraging ongoing engagement with meaningful stories. There are many classic literature titles, so finding a novel for the reading challenge should be easy.
